On August 24, 2010, Fibertek and a team of 45 subcontractors were awarded a contract by the US Army Communications and Electronics Command (CECOM) for “Quick Reaction Engineering for Warfighter Sensing (QREWS)”.  Support is to be provided to the Research, Development, and Engineering Command (RDECOM) Communications- Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center's (CERDEC’s) Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) and sensor research and development community to accomplish its mission.  QREWS is an 18 month, small business set-aside, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) multiple award, contract with a maximum of $245M.  This procurement will enable NVESD to perform its Warfighter critical mission of research, development, experimentation, engineering, prototyping and field support of Night Vision, Electro-Optical, Electronic Sensors, and Countermine and Counter-Improvised Explosive Device systems.  This PWS pertains to the equipment, systems, facilities, and operations under the responsibility of NVESD and its partners both in the Continental United States (CONUS) and outside CONUS (OCONUS).  QREWS represents the fourth IDIQ task order contract to Fibertek’s Engineering Support Services (ESS) division to support the NVESD since 1996.

Preview data from Fibertek's Airborne LIDAR Sensor System.

This data was collected by an airborne LIDAR sensor developed by Fibertek. The laser is eye safe, and operates at 1.5 microns with a repetition rate of 65 kHz.

The possibilities for 3D LIDAR imaging are extremely exciting. This cutting-edge technology has numerous potential commerical, governmental and military applications.
