Fibertek, Inc is developing pulsed and CW fiber lasers for various applications. Fiber lasers hold the promise of increased wall plug efficiencies and reduced thermal management requirements. These attributes provide flexibility in packaging and integration on platforms that have limited space and power allocations. Fiber laser technology can be used for short pulse lidars, IRCM and other high repetition rate laser sources and high power applications. 

Fibertek has successfully demonstrated >40W CW with an M2< 1.3 in an Yb fiber amplifier. True optical to optical efficiency (output power/ input power) of over 55% has been demonstrated. Fibers have also been used to amplify short pulse (<1ns) seed sources to the multi-watt level.
