Fiber Laser Engineer

Fibertek is now actively recruiting for a Senior Laser Technician to join our solid-state
laser development staff in Herndon, Virginia.
Job Overview:
Provide technical leadership and hands-on experimental support to solid-state laser development programs for military and aerospace applications.
General Duties:
• Contribute to the engineering development of new solid-state laser designs
• Coordinate and support the build and alignment of laser resonators / amplifiers and complex optical components
• Coordinate and perform formal acceptance and qualification testing
• Participate in customer interactions including formal technical reviews
Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience with the assembly, alignment, test and troubleshooting of solid-state lasers
• Fundamental understanding of optical and laser engineering
• Self directed with excellent oral and written communication skills
• Minimum 5 years in a laser engineering / development or laser manufacturing environment
• B.S. (M.S. desired) degree in physics or related engineering or manufacturing discipline
• US citizenship is required
